Hello LGBT Divers and Friends,
It’s time for everyone to start making their plans for Diving for Life 2009 – our 18th Jamboree. This year’s venue is Captain Don’s Habitat, Bonaire.  We’ve held three very successful jamborees at this resort and are very pleased to be going back again this year.  Our last visit to Bonaire was in Sept 2001. 

Bonaire is truly one of the Caribbean’s most valued diving destinations.  The house reef in front of Capt Don’s is by far one of the most comprehensive sites on the island.  Our package includes 2 boat dives per day and unlimited shore diving on site.  The reefs of Bonaire are truly synonymous with “world class dives”.  Also, snorkelers will enjoy hovering over the shallows just off the baby dock, watching the octopus and small golden morays, plus MANY other fascinating types of marine life. 

The island of Bonaire has other adventures besides diving.  The National Park on the north end of the island is worth checking out, especially if you want to see the hundreds of Pink Flamingos that are daily habitants of the park lake.  Every evening these magnificent creatures migrate back to the mainland of Venezuela.  At the other end of the island there are huge mountains of sea salt, the island’s only natural resource.  Bonaire also has a shopping area in town for those who must get in their required shopping spree.

If you have never been to Diving for Life, we welcome you to join our fun-filled group.  Each year, we are pleased to welcome new people who quickly have friends from all over the world.  Plus, Diving for Life has become a major source of funds for LGBT health organizations around the world.  Our dedicated volunteers as well as an on-site raffle and auction program enable us to share our resources with worthy organizations.  Please click on “Beneficiaries” to discover the amazing amount of money we have given away over the years.
